50 Most Influential DC Restaurants of the Last Century!

50 Most Influential DC Restaurants of the Last Century

Washingtonian Magazine September 2020

Ann Limpert writes:

"This Baileys Crossroads dining room was one of the first restaurants in the suburbs to offer an affordable menu and a date-night atmosphere (servers in silk dresses, a Trumpian amount of gilt). It went beyond Americanized Thai staples, and its success helped spur the Thai-restaurant boom in the 1990s".

Thank you Washingtonian Magazine, Ann Limpert, our loyal patrons and dedicated staff for supporting us for over 3 decades, through thick & thin!  What an honor it is to be named amongst DC's esteemed institutions!

Phase 1 re-opening, we are up & running!

Well folks, we have weathered the storm thanks to you, our loyal patrons, THANK YOU!  Today, Friday, May 29, 2020 we have begun "Phase 1" re-opening.  This means that in addition to carry-out, we are able to serve diners outside on our patio.  NO indoor seating yet : (

While this is a small concession to the stay-home order, we are certain that everyone is eager to get out and dine-out again!  Due to the added logistics required to ensure everyone's safety, the last thing we want to deal with is managing reservations.  This said, our limited patio seating will be on a first come, first served basis.  We only have 7 tables, each seats only 4, so please limit your party to 4.  We want to give other families a chance to enjoy dining-out as well.  If there is a wait, order a drink from our bar and enjoy it in your car- we'll call you when a table becomes available : )

All staff, front & back-of-house are to wear face coverings. Patrons are exempt while dining.

Tables are at least 6’ apart, maximum party of 4 per table.

According to the CDC, CV is primarily spread via transmission of respiratory droplets from an infected person- talking, coughing or sneezing; that may come into contact with the nose or mouth of a healthy person who is within close proximity.

-       CV is less likely to be transmitted from skin to surface contact.  However, out of an abundance of caution we will:

-       Provide an alcohol-based hand sanitizer station outside for your convenience and also encourage you to use our washrooms inside

     -       Sanitize our tables & chairs after each use

- Use disposable paper products in lieu of our
  usual linens

     -       Machine wash & chemically sanitize our table wares

     -       Sanitize our menus after each use

A note to our valued customers regarding Covid-19

Dear valued patrons & friends,

In these uncertain times, please know that your well-being is always our first priority and we are taking necessary pre-cautions to help mitigate spread of the Corona Virus.

In addition to practicing safe food handling procedures per Health Department guidelines; we are frequently & thoroughly washing our hands w/ anti-bacterial soap and/or using hand sanitizer, minimizing bare hand contact and/or wearing disposable gloves, wiping down high-contact surfaces and menus with bleach and spraying disinfectant where appropriate.  Any staff experiencing illness/ symptoms will be sent home until recovery.  With this said, according to the CDC, there is no evidence that this Virus is spread through food.

Thankfully, we are all healthy at this point and we hope the same for you.  In the meantime, we are monitoring the news and following federal & local guidelines.

As always, our full menu is available for carry-out and delivery is available through all major third-parties (Door Dash, Postmates, Grub Hub, Uber Eats).  Don't forget we have a market around the corner stocked with ingredients for cooking Thai at home.  Here, you'll also find a pop-up noodle shop called "Zaap" for a quick bite, carry-out and daily-made grab & go Thai street fare.

We look forward to getting through this tough period together and seeing you soon!  Please be safe and as always, thank you for your support.
